Website Revenue
Affiliate Commission Calculator
Estimate affiliate earnings from sales, average order value, and commission rate.
What this calculator does
Estimate gross affiliate commission from qualifying orders, average qualifying order value, and one fixed commission rate.
Scope, period, and currency
This page runs a local formula from user-entered values. The country/currency selector changes money symbols and formatting only: it does not perform live or historical FX conversion or automatically change contract, tax, accounting, or regulatory rules. Convert all amounts into one currency first and keep periods and metric definitions consistent.
Formula variables
- N
- Whole qualifying orders.
- A
- Average qualifying order value.
- r
- Fixed commission rate as a decimal.
Formula and worked example
Formula: Qualifying sales value = N × A; gross commission = N × A × r.
Recalculation: 320 qualifying orders × $86 average value × 8% = $27,520 qualifying sales and $2,201.60 gross commission. If 10% is reversed, the illustrative net is $1,981.44.
Model assumptions
- All orders qualify under the same program and rate.
- Refunds, exclusions, tiered rates, taxes, shipping, and payout timing are outside the core formula.
- The page does not determine disclosure compliance.
Reading the result and model boundary
- Use platform-approved qualifying revenue for reconciliation.
- Actual payout can differ after reversals, category rates, and program rules.
This is a one-rate gross commission estimate, not a platform settlement statement.
How to use it
- Count settled qualifying orders.
- Use the platform's eligible value and applicable commission rate.
- Reconcile the estimate with reversals and the final payout report.
Common incorrect uses
- Counting clicks or unapproved orders as sales.
- Applying one rate to categories with different schedules.
- Ignoring refunds, exclusions, and disclosure duties.
Suggested verification workflow
- Define qualifying transactions.
- Calculate gross commission.
- Reconcile reversals and program terms.
FAQ
Should refunded orders be included?
No. Reconcile reversals according to the affiliate program's final qualifying-order report.
Can I use one rate for every product?
Only when the program actually applies one rate to all included orders.
Does currency selection convert sales?
No. It changes formatting only; order value and payout comparisons must use one currency.
